Fox. The good ol’ Irish name. Or is it? Turns out grandpa was wrong, and I don’t know why. Fox appears to have derived itself from Fuchs. German. Would assume its German for Fox (think I am right, too).

Looks like it is an honor to be descended from the Foxes. Appears my ancestor fought for the winning side of the American Revolution. Guess I’m eligible for SAR. Even cooler though, though not from the Palatinate region of Germany, they migrated with those Germans, and was part of the group who settled along the Hudson and finally the Mohawk river in New York. Herkimer. Little Falls. They are still there. Unaware of their long lost cousin down here in the south.
